Marty Sullivan
Marty was a lifelong supporter of soap box derby. He raced in the NHSBD from 1960 to 1964 when he won the state championship in his last year of racing. Marty won his first race in Akron. Over the years he supported numerous family members along with his extended family that knew him as “Uncle Marty”. He held “tribal knowledge” and knew how to tune a car into a winner. Marty was the NHSBD race director for many years in the 1970s and 1980s. He was the Region 10 Director from 1989 to 2021 and was the Chairman of the Regional Directors from 2013 to 2021. He was a Hall of Fame Inductee 2013. Marty could be seen at all of our NHSBD events as the starter on the ramps.
