The New Hampshire Soap Box Derby provides opportunities for girls and boys ages 7 years old & up to assemble, then take the steering wheel of their gravity powered car down a 500 ft or more track in side by side competition. Our mission is to build knowledge and character, and to create meaningful experiences through collaboration and fair and honest competition. Participating in soap box derby provides students the opportunity to sharpen their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills. Mechanical skills along with an appreciation of physics and mathematics define a winning racer. The NHSBD hosts races throughout the year. Qualified racers have the opportunity to race in July at the First Energy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship in Akron, Ohio.
